Immanuel

Let joy arise oh my soul
You are not alone
Hope appears when our eyes meet
Peace remains when You seem gone

There is a rhythm of engagement and rest woven into the fabric of all healthy relationships. With mutual and coordinated engagement comes the crescendo of joy. After all, joy is relational in its essence. But we can only sustain this state of being for so long. We then must withdraw, without detaching, and rest from the thrill of the engagement. God understands this rhythm, for He is the one who designed the relational dance between the two states of joy and peace.

“Joy is peace dancing. Peace is joy at rest.”
