Munchies Volume 13 (audio)  by:Jim Wilder
Belonging is one of the most problematic topics in the Life Model teaching. First, because most people assume that belonging is something that others are supposed to do for them and no one can find people who can give them enough belonging. Second, the "seeker sensitive" church movement assumed that people who come to church are seeking belonging only to find out recently that finding belonging is not what attracts a crowd. Wilder demonstrates in this series that belonging is something people create around them until they are damaged by type A or B traumas. Even the weak and the stranger are expected by scripture to create belonging around them. Creating belonging around you is your normal function. Restoring our natural function is object of the Thriving Recover Your Life class called "Belonging." These lessons give the biblical background for our program design.

Munchies Volume 22 (audio)  by:Jim Wilder
"No Fear" Are your thoughts and decisions often influenced by your fears? God never guides His children through fear! Wilder uses four separate groups of Bible stories to examine our guidance system: 1) Stories where we are told that people acted out of fear - starting with the first one where Adam and Eve were afraid and they hid. 2) Times when people did not let fear win and God approved their actions. 3) Times that God said, "Fear not!" 4) Times God used fear to guide His enemies to pay attention. After you hear this "no fear" series you will want everyone you know to hear it too!

JIMTalks Food and Attachment With God (audio)  by:Jim Wilder
Food was made to help us attach with God and with the people who feed us. This 80-minute talk by Dr. Jim Wilder explains how we become attached to the food instead of the feeder – like Adam and Eve and the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And how Jesus uses food to resolve traumas by restoring relationship. There has long been a question of whether Jesus resolved psychological traumas and how He did it. Without understanding the link between food, comfort eating and attachment we have long missed understanding Jesus in action. If you struggle with food cravings, comfort eating, poor relationships or traumas this is a lesson you should not miss

JIMTalks Vol 28-Food and Attachment With God (audio)  by:Jim Wilder
Both the Old and New Testaments use strong words for attachment with God that suggest we are to “glue” ourselves to God. Brain science says that joy, peace, appreciation and, oddly enough, being fed are forms of strengthening attachment. While most Life Model students are familiar with joy, peace and appreciation this volume takes us deeply into how God presents Himself as the “one who feeds us” across the Bible. When attachment goes wrong we become attached to the food instead of to the feeder. Attachment to food instead of the feeder is common in the books of Moses and the stories of Jesus. Jesus goes so far as to use food as part of healing traumatic memories. Salvation is not so much about escaping hell as about forming this new attachment with the God who feeds us. Did you ever consider that the closest thing to “milk and honey” is ice cream? When food becomes our attachment the joy is soon diminished. Learn to use your food to attach to Joy again.

JIMTalks Volume 29 Weakness and Strength (audio)  by:Jim Wilder
Many things we consider strengths are considered weaknesses in scripture leading to confusion about what develops strong Godly character. These JIMTalks lay out the importance of weakness in the development of strong character. Strength and weakness are central thoughts in the Joy Starts Here book and these lessons deepen our understanding of how we live with weakness.

JIM Talks Vol. 30- Iniquities (audio)  by:Jim Wilder
This extensive study on iniquity will help you see the Bible through new eyes. Scripture is careful to distinguish between iniquity, sin and transgression in many Old Testament Hebrew passages but the New Testament Greek does not provide equivalent distinctions. Many Christians now consider the terms interchangeable because they all represent something gone wrong. This would be the same as assuming that cancer, broken bones and Down’s syndrome were all the same thing and required the same solution because they are medical conditions. Iniquity refers to those things that deform our development and the Bible gives special attention to “workers of iniquity” – those who produce deformities in others. Come learn what it meant when the prophet Isaiah said of Messiah, “The LORD has laid on him the iniquities of us all.” These teachings back up the theology and teaching on iniquity for the Joy Starts Here book.
